Find your dog's fit: Measure around the base of your dog's neck where the collar will sit, then choose a size using the neck measurements below. These are your dog's neck measurements, not the finished collar length. I add one inch when making the collar to allow for the thickness of the paracord and a comfortable fit. For example, a 7-inch neck measurement makes an 8-inch collar. You don't need to add the extra inch yourself.

Neck size guide

  • XS: 8–12" neck, 5–10 lbs (Chihuahua, Maltese, Toy Poodle)
  • S: 10–14" neck, 10–25 lbs (Pug, Pekingese, Scottish Terrier)
  • M: 14–20" neck, 25–55 lbs (Cocker Spaniel, Border Collie, English Bulldog)
  • L: 16–26" neck, 55–75 lbs (Labrador, Boxer, Golden Retriever)
  • XL: 24–30" neck, 75+ lbs (Bernese Mountain Dog, Great Dane, Mastiff)

How to measure: Use a flexible tape measure or a soft piece of string around the base of your dog's neck where the collar will sit. Keep it snug but not tight; you should be able to slip two fingers underneath. If using a string, mark the spot and measure against a ruler. Use your measured number to select the size. If your dog's neck measurement fits two sizes, choose the larger size. For example, if it fits both XS and S, choose S for comfort.
